Words from Suzette
"Getting lost with her magical voice... Soothes my soul. Closing my eyes I can see her stage front.
Her back lungs going in just enough to grasp that air to sing it like only she could.
Being the drummer of the band you really do have the best seat in the house...
this version of this song (Tus Desprecios from the album Enamorada De Ti) I can hear over and over and over.
Love to listen to hear lil breathes...." Suzette Quintanilla Official Facebook

A Must Read: The New Edition Of "To Selena With Love"
For many Latinos, Selena was one of the biggest icons. The Tejano singer was murdered at just 23 years old,
but her legacy still remains. Her widower, Chris Perez, is opening up about his feelings in the commemorative edition of his book, "To Selena With Love."
The book was originally published last March, but since then Chris added a new chapter about his feelings since
writing the piece, plus never before seen photos of the singer. Filled with old photos of the Selena plus
love letters from Chris, this one is definitely a must-read. It goes on sale tomorrow, so grab your copy!

Selena Still Inspires JLo

Today, Jennifer Lopez posted on her FB, IG, Twitter and shared with Cosmopolitan Latinas Magazine:
"I've been following this one rule ever since my days on the set of Selena.
Thank you Cosmo for Latinas!"
- Jennifer says (in the interview) she was so nervous to sing in front of 35,000 people,
but she told herself “Don’t think about it — you can do it and you’ll do great.”
She’s been living by that motto ever since.

Selena's Legacy Lives On!

Latina magazine remembers Selena with online article: http://bit.ly/16PPnjb
"Latinos We Miss: Where Would They Be Now?" By Jill Pankow
We can't predict death–not even for some of our heroes. Whether they lived long and prosperous lives or left us far too soon,
sometimes we still can’t help but ask ourselves, “What if?” Instead of continuing to wonder, we made some of our own
predictions based on the remarkable lives of 10 truly unforgettable Latinos. Read on and see if you agree.

Singer-songwriter Selena Quintanilla wasn’t just going places; she had arrived. She was the first Tejano ever to win a Grammy,
and she remains one of the best selling artists of all time.
Fans call her “The Queen of Tejano Music”, and she even had her very own boutique in Texas.
Unfortunately, it was this same boutique that eventually led to Selena’s untimely death
when the disgruntled former president of the boutique, shot and killed the still-rising star.
The Governor of Texas at the time, George W. Bush, named April 16 “Selena Day."
While there are well-documented accounts of her life, we can’t help but wonder about her future –
the one she would have experienced if her life hadn’t been cut short.
Since Selena was on the cusp of launching a wildly successful crossover career,
we imagine her traveling the world over and serenading scores of fans with her stunning vocals.
As for her boutique, we bet it would have expanded to feature more of her jaw-dropping designs.

Selena Changed The World

Latina Magazine honors Selena with online article: http://bit.ly/19UgwWk
How She Changed the World: Despite having her life tragically cut short, Selena accomplished more than most artists in her lifetime.
She helped put Latin and Tejano music on the mainstream map.
She was known as ‘The Queen of Tejano” and her voice transcended borders in hits like, “Como la Flor” and “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom.”
Very few stars have been able to live up to the Grammy winner’s grace, talent, and ambition.
