Description:
Duplicate of Egg Ring made specially for famous tejano singer at the request of employees of a boutique owned by famous Tejano singer, Selena.

Master Jeweler Phillip Randolph designed a ring for the world-renowned artist. The employees expressed their desire to present the ring to her as a gift for her birthday in 1995. The ring, completed in January 1995 was made of 14kt yellow gold, topped with a 14 kt white gold egg encrusted with 52 three-point diamonds totaling approximately 1.5 ctw. The letter "S" was incorporated in the band design three times on each side.

The Singer personally stated to Mr. Randolph that she "absolutely loved" the ring.

Mr. Randolph has created one, and only one, duplicate of the original ring made for the singer, using the same design and the same precious metal and diamonds. He donated the duplicate ring to the Optimist Foundation of Downtown Corpus Christi, Texas, Inc., a tax exempt charitable foundation benefiting youth programs. The proceeds from the sale of the duplicate ring are to be used to further the charitable purposes of the Foundation, such as support for activities for underprivileged children, scouting for girls and boys, essay and oratorical contest, leadership training, recognition for academic and volunteer efforts of students, and other projects and/or grant request undertaken by the Foundation.

The ring offered by the Optimist Foundation of Corpus Christi is the only duplicate ever made by the designer and the only duplicate he will ever make. A copy can be seen in the movie "Selena" in which Jennifer Lopez who starred in the movie wore a similar ring made by Mr. Randolph. The ring worn by Ms. Lopez is a copy of the original, but it is not a duplicate because Mr. Randolph created the copy for the movie using gold-plated silver and cubic zirconia. The duplicate owned by the Foundation and offered for sale has an estimated fair market value of $5,200.00 U.S.

This ring can be inspected or discussed at:

This ring will be shipped to the winning bidder by insured first class postage upon receipt of certified funds.
Thank you.

In a recent interview, Mr. Quintanilla said that the ring was thrown into the ocean at the Gulf Of Mexico after Selena's death.
